Provider Alert! Perinatal Psychiatric Access Network (PeriPAN) Pilot Live in Four Regions

Date: September 8, 2022

Attention: All Providers

Effective Date: September 1, 2022

Providers should monitor the Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) Provider Portal regularly for alerts and updates associated with the COVID-19 event. TCHP reserves the right to update and/or change this information without prior notice due to the evolving nature of the COVID-19 event.

Call to action: Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) would like to inform providers that the Perinatal Psychiatric Access Network (PeriPAN), a state-funded project, is now available to clinicians in four Texas regions. This project provides real-time support to clinicians on issues including medication management and treatment plans for perinatal patients, as well as referral assistance and vetted resources for reproductive maternal health.

PeriPAN services are free and available to clinicians who screen or provide care to women in the prenatal, perinatal, birthing, and postpartum period. This list may include obstetricians, gynecologists, pediatricians, family practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, midwives, and other primary care physicians. Services can be accessed by calling 1-888-901-2726.

How this impacts providers: These clinician-to-clinician services are available through the following health-related institutions (HRIs), or regional access centers in the pilot regions: the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Lubbock, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and Baylor College of Medicine. Visit the program website for more information.

Next steps for providers: Providers can access a map of coverage, promotional materials, and additional information about the program here: https://tcmhcc.utsystem.edu/peripan/.
