Opioid Use Disorder in Pregnancy: Screening, Intervention and Referral

Learn screening brief intervention and referral (SBIRT) skills and review Eat Sleep Console (ESC) method to reduce the negative impact of Prenatal Opioid Use Disorders on women, children and families. This is a free, online CME course for contracted providers of the health plan provided by Texas Children’s Hospital.

  • Review morbidity and mortality data related to opioid use disorder (OUD) in pregnant women
  • Discuss universal screening, brief intervention and motivational interviewing
  • Identify referral process, next steps, and resources for positive substance use screens in pregnancy
  • Identify impact of prenatal substance exposure on infants and discuss interventions
