Provider Alert! Healthy Rewards/Value Added Services for 2023-2024Texas Children's Health Plan
Date: August 16, 2023
Attention: All Providers
Effective Date: September 1, 2023
Call to action: Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) is proud to present our Healthy Rewards Program/Value Added Services (VAS) program effective September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2024. These rewards and services are available in each line of business CHIP, STAR, and STAR Kids and Service Delivery Areas; Harris, Jefferson and North East (limitations may apply).
Member favorites, such as the Prenatal and Postpartum Visit Rewards, Portable Crib/Playpen, Diabetes Management Rewards and Well-Child Visit Rewards are returning, along with a new benefit for our STAR members age 21 and up to help cover the cost of a fitness center membership.
For the first time ever, providers can request a reward on behalf of a member. If you are treating a CHIP-Perinate covered member with a diagnosis of hypertension during their pregnancy, you can request to have a blood pressure monitor mailed to their home. At this time, this is the only reward that can be requested by a provider.
Extra benefits are available for the following categories:
|Healthy Pregnancy|| |
|Health and Wellness|
|Healthy Play and Exercise|| |
|Extra Help for Families|
For a complete list of all changes to the Healthy Rewards Program (including discontinued rewards like Meals for Moms), please click here.
How this impacts providers: Providers should encourage members to take advantage of the Healthy Rewards Program benefits/VAS that are applicable and helpful for them.
Detailed information including how to redeem the extra benefits is available here: www.healthyrewardsprogram.org
Healthmine – Healthy Connections (VAS reward card fulfillment)
TCHP is continuing our partnership with Healthmine, branded Healthy Connections, for our members, for our VAS reward card fulfillment. Healthmine provides an online, interactive portal where members can actively participate in tracking their health actions and fulfill VAS gift cards. Please note, only the Prenatal, Postpartum, Cervical Cancer, Diabetes Management, Well-Child Check, HRA completion and Young Adult Wellness Visit rewards are fulfilled by Healthmine.
Members can request their reward and create their Healthmine (Healthy Connections) account a few ways:
- For members age 18 and up, call Healthmine at 866-475-1619 (TTY711). Healthmine customer service agents can help members create their account and intake member VAS requests
- For members under the age of 18, they must create their account online by either:
Please encourage members to create their Healthy Connections account (if not already done so) as this will be the only way members can request and redeem these rewards
Next steps for providers: Providers should share this information with their staff and their TCHP plan members.
