Provider Alert! Signature Requirement Reinstated on DME Forms

Subject: Signature Requirement Reinstated on DME Forms

TCHP COVID-19 Utilization Management Procedure and TCHP provider alerts can be found here: http://www.thecheckup.org/provider-alerts/

TCHP network providers should monitor the TCHP Provider Portal regularly for alerts
and updates associated to the COVID-19 event.  TCHP reserves the right to update
and/or change this information without prior notice due to the evolving nature of the COVID-19 event.

Call to action: Effective January 1, 2022, a member or member’s authorized representative’s signature is required on DME Certification and receipt forms for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) providers.

How this impacts providers: DME Providers should make every effort to obtain the required signature on DME documents and maintain a copy in the member’s record.

Next steps for providers: Providers should make staff are aware of this communication.
